Family dining in Albert Lea. The restaurant was clean, food was good, service was adequate. Would definitely eat here again.

Went here with my girlfriend, the moment we walked in we felt like we were in a hospital or a nursing home, the food was mediocre, waitress was a bit rude, probably wont be returning.

We had excellent meals here. Tomato soup was wonderful and staff very friendly. Hot beef was superb. Would definitely return

Stopped by for lunch on a Wed. when driving by on Interstate 35. Busy with a senior citizen crowd. Appetizer of onion rings were thick, sweet slices of onion served piping hot. Unfortunately they were also very greasy. Chose the lunch special of fried walleye sandwich with 1 side for $11. The chicken & wild rice soup chosen for the side was thick, creamy and pretty good. The sandwich was a nice, large walleye fillet on a fresh hoagie roll. Unfortunately it was also very greasy. The service was good and food was served quickly and piping hot. I consider it an OK local Midwestern restaurant. Not bad, but not sure I'd go out of my way to eat here again. If so, I would definitely not eat anything fried.

The 60 or so year old woman that sat us at our table and gruffly asked "what do ya want ta drink," was the introduction to our rather interesting lunch at Trumble's... after watching the woman walk herself back to the serving counter and strike up a rather loud conversation with another elderly waitress about "rotten kids" and how much she dislikes young people, she casually filled two glasses of water that sat on the counter while she finished her conversation. She meandered back and slid them across the table at us and asked "alright, what do ya want to eat?" After taking our full order she sauntered on back to the service counter to slowly enter in our food order while striking up yet another loud conversation about her sisters grand kids that she "hated" because they were just "too f@cking loud." The food... wasn't very good. The salad was nice, if you figure that any standard dinner salad just comes out of a few different bags in the fridge. But the burger my partner had... was really overdone, and rather flavorless. The sandwich that I had looked like it had been toasted on only one side, and was more mayo than it was meat. From start to finish, this was not worth the $24 dollar bill excluding a tip. And for a self (and loudly) proclaimed "young person hating woman" I didn't include much of one. I tip for service, not out of obligation. Sorry Ethel.

Average food with average service. Nothing special. I always seem to forget about this place, it's kind of an older person restaurant.

Had the walleye. Under cooked tasteless and slimey. Can have better food at a Dennys and cheaper

Holy cow - absolutely delicious. Malts and pies are to die for, and the fried chicken melted in my mouth.

Stopped in for lunch on the way to Jackson, MN. Family owned, well kept, clean. We were seated immediately and were told what the specials were. Theresa was our waitress and was excellent. We got the Roast Beef Dinner and it was moist and tender. We ordered a slice of Coconut Cream pie and a Peanut Butter/chocolate silk pie to go. Theresa pulled the pies from the display so that someone else didn't purchase them before we finished out dinner. We met the owners who were behind the front counter as we paid our bill. Very nice people. I told them we enjoyed our meal and would be stopping by again when we were in the area. Prices were good if you're looking for something outside a chain restaurant. I'd give it a try and hope you get the service and food quality that we did.

Just passing thru Albert Lea. Consulted Yelp to find a restaurant. Trumbles was listed but no reviews were made. We selected it based on observation of the type of customers going in, the sizable number of cars in the parking lot and a review of the menu. As advertised, it is a local, family restaurant. The decor was what one would expect. The food was good, service was adequate. Furnishings were in good repair. Everything appeared very clean. Most of the customers appeared to be middle-aged and older. Most were locals who seemed to have been there before. The outside landscaping was beautiful with lots of well-cared-for flowers. In spite of only paper napkins, we'd stop in again.

Very Basic. Nothing Special. Food was bland and the service was not great. Much better places to eat nearby. Really wish I had gone somewhere else.

Great small town family restaurant with good food. Onion rings were delicious & I wish I had had room for a shake. Our waitress provided great service.

If you long for the smells, food, and ambience of an under-funded old folks home, then look no further. The favorites on the menu include prune juice and mash potatoes. Applesauce and various puddings make up their dessert tray.
